Background
He was once one of the most famous race cars in history; he won three Piston Cups in a row and still holds the record for nearly wins in a unmarried flavour. Doc Hudson is based off of the existent 1951 Hudson Hornet, which is where his name, number and pigment scheme came from.
During his Piston Loving cup racing days, Doc was painted in a dark shade of blue, with a chrome bumper and grille. On his doors were the number 51 painted in yellow, equally well as the words Fabulous Hudson Hornet painted in both white and yellow.
